Website Update
Now in 2019 and I have gone with another webhost called 000webhost, it has been a mission to alter many pages and upload but Im getting there though, mid July all pages are live, just a number of alterations (mistakes in coding etc) needed which takes a bit of time. (now completed).
In June 2018 all sites in Freepages went down I tried for months to have the site restored, when they finally started restoring sites slowly which was near the end of the year my site never came back not for want of trying. I contantly pestered them without success. I believe Ancestry.com is behind all of this upset with the intension of selecting site that would contibute to their financial prospereity.
Early in 2018, and I carried out a major update of all pages, each page should now diplay correctly on all devices including smartphones. I have updated and changed a number of pages because of errors, updates or not displaying correctly.
The web site was updated with changes to all pages, on 23 January 2012, this was a major task to produce the site, it's now more efficient and easier to use, I have also been promoting this web site on the internet, the site appears high in all the major search engines. And on 20 October 2012 I changed the navigation bar to the left hand side which uses drop down lists.
2014. I have updated all tree pages, with census, birth and deaths information producing many links to the different countries. and took some time to sort out, I will adding any new information to these pages and as they come in. Also a few additions from information I have recieved through e-mails.
In early november 2014 and midway into 2015, I have altered the navigation bar and page setup to accomodate other devices, in August 2015 all web pages display correctly on tablets and smartphones, and the very large tree files are now working with an increase in clarity, for smartphones. These large picture files are difficult to display for the different hardware but once loaded are a good way to display so much gathered information. At the beginning of 2017 all of the pages seem to be working well on all devices, with minor corrections and as any new finds or information passed to me I will update where required and enter the update in the news page.
The web site has had a major update 2017, and all 280 html pages will display correctly on a PC, Android Smartphones, Tablets and even smart tv's, many pages have been added or updated as the information comes in, and any interesting info or photos found relating to our various family lines have found a place on this website.Any official updates, valuation rolls or new information sent to me is recorded on the News Page.
Its now 2018 and windows 10 is here, I have found that most webpages were not displaying correctly on some other browsers and devices, I have changed all webpages again and removed the menu system with a simplified hyperlink system which does the same job and this seems to work well and faster. I have tested the site on android phones etc and all pages seem to display correctly.
There will be new finds from the internet as time goes on and as more new records are put onto the net, the Scotland tree file should be clearer to pinpoint connections. This is the most important file because Scotland is the origional source for all Cairnduff's and Carnduff and the many variations in the world.
It is now up to interested families who may have links to join up the info gathered so far and add their contributions before its lost, Im especially interested in the Ireland families but find it very difficult to get any details, Northern Ireland was the place where many generations of our namesake came from and especially relevant to Canada, America and Australia, but due to the lack of census records and other documents the only hope seems to be from handed down family information and family records. There are a few projects on the go at present, recording many old graveyards and taking inscriptions before they are also lost and I am always checking for any new additions for this site.
Occasionally I recieve mail from someone in Northern Ireland or who was born there and they may have a photo or a family story to relate, these are invaluable and the site is great place to preserve their own family history and to display it.
Again I have updated all pages because it was found that some of the web pages were not displaying correctly on certain internet browsers, all pages have now been updated yet again and the previous menu system removed to a simplified system.
I would appreciate any comments on this site with a view of correction or changes, if anyone requires any part of a page or anything to add please e-mail me through the contact link below.
